A Short Poem

Photo by Pacific Austin on Unsplash

Shadow
Is light diffused
a body reformed in casting
ever-present
a gloom of gray.
The companion of fear
with a chill, unexplained.
Whether dark or light
night or day
the shadow is a companion
you can’t wish away.

IWSG-Form

Insecure Writer's Support Group

Question - Quote: "Although I have written a short story collection, the form found me and not the other way around. Don't write short stories, novels or poems. Just write your truth and your stories will mold into the shapes they need to be."

Have you ever written a piece that became a form, or even a genre, you hadn't planned on writing in? Or do you choose a form/genre in advance?

I let my muse choose the form. Since I use writing as a form of therapy, I really have no choice in the matter. At least that's what I tell myself, but I'm a talented liar storyteller. Just ask me.
