Just Like A Painting

These are photographs that
I took the night before Hurricane Dorian.
Dorian hit September 5, 2019

Magical!

And yes, we rode out that threat
despite the mandatory evacuation.

The winds were fierce, and they howled
like a thousand banshees holding chorus,
the doors rattled and the patio doors moved in and out.

The sounds, especially during the darkest hours were the most frightening.
Tornado warning began going off at 3 AM via phone.
And a tornado did hit Myrtle Beach before the worst of the hurricane hit.

We were lucky Hurricane Dorian stayed 45 miles off the shore.
I'm so glad. It's a stressful thing to do - stay when told to leave.
I don't recommend it. We live on the 12th floor.
The elevators and the air conditioning were out for 24 hours.
Will we do it again?
I hope not!

I hope the colors translate -
they are muted which is why I thought they looked like a painting.

HAPPY MONDAY!
