G IS FOR LUIS GARAVITO 

Known as "The Beast" Luis Garavito confessed to killing 140 children over a 5 year period in Colombia. But he's suspected of murdering more than 300. Because the maximum sentence in Columbia is 40 years and because Luis helped recover the bodies of some of his victims he could be released as early as 2021.

During a recent interview, Garavito discussed his intent for a political career. He professed a desire to help abused children. A man or rather a beast who would gain his victims trust with money, torture, rape, and then dismember their bodies.

This is one fact I pray is false!

F IS FOR PEDRO RODRIGUES FILHO

Pedro Rodrigues Filho, was convicted and sentenced to 128 years, but the maximum to serve in Brazil is 30 years. He was released in 2007. And arrested in again in 2011.

He claimed to have killed over 100 victims, 47 of them inmates.

He also killed his father. His father killed his wife (Filho's mother) with an ax.

E IS FOR LARRY EYLER

Known as "The Interstate Killer," Larry Eyler, killed 23+. Eyler was sentenced to death for killing a fifteen year old. Most all his victims were young men. 

Eyler died in 1994.

Dominique confessed to raping and killing 23 men over ten years to avoid the death penalty. Dominique frequented gay bars and targeted men willing to have sex for money. 

He is serving eight life sentences in Louisiana.

C IS FOR JUAN VALLEJO CORONA

Juan Vallejo Corona, was convicted of the murders of 25 migrant farm workers, in California. Known as the Machete killer Juan kept a ledger, the "death list" that held the names and dates of some of his victims.

Juan was sentenced to life and comes up for parole this year.

B IS FOR TED BUNDY

Ted Bundy, well known for his charisma and looks confessed to killing 30 women. He decapitated 12 of his victims and kept severed heads in his apartment. His killing spree ran between 1974 & 1978. 

He was executed in Raiford Prison in Florida, 1989.

FYI!

The posts for this A to Z Challenge are all about serial killers.

The most prolific, and from other countries, not just the U.S.

The numbers of victims are numerous.

Many of the doers are still alive.

Some of them are no longer in prison.

Other countries have less stringent laws and the sad fact is that they've lost track of many of these men.

A IS FOR BENJAMIN ATKINS 

Known as the Woodward Corridor Killer, Benjamin Atkins killed 11 women. Atkins raped, strangled, and then dumped his victims in vacant buildings in Detroit, Michigan in the early 1990's.

He was sentenced to eleven life sentences. He died in prison of an infection.
